Late Post: Weekend Shenanigans

Jug Rock, Shoals Indiana

We went to Shoals, Indiana this last weekend to see family and attend a family reunion.  While we were there we checked out some of the local sights.  Starting with Jug Rock.  Unfortunately it was obstructed by the foliage and this was the best picture I could get.

We also visited Overlook Park and I got this picture.  It is a very pretty place.

Next we went to the Martin State Forest.  There are multiple small lakes for fishing.

As well as multiple play areas.  I got to swing for the first time in years and I had forgotten how much fun it was.

They also have some very cool and very large pavilions available.  We plan on going back next year and may even camp.

On our last day we attended a family reunion.  It was good to see everyone and can't wait until next time.

Weekend Shenanigans: Family Time

Weekend Shenanigans

We spent the weekend home!  It was a nice change of pace.  The girls climbed trees and ran wild.
Friday night we hung out in the back yard with music and a pit fire.  It was a lovely evening and I am looking forward to many more just like it over this Summer.

We had a full moon to finish off the evening and though I tried my best to capture it, the picture does not do it justice.  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  See you next week.

Weekend Shenanigans: Peachtree and a Totally Useless Show

weekend shenanigans

It was a full weekend of events starting with our yearly trip to Peachtree Downsouth Music Festival.  We have attended every one and we certainly weren't going to miss this year's.

We took both of the girls with us this year and they couldn't have had a better time.

Our good friends from Evil Awful also rocked the same night.

There were artists painting live, the Dancing Bear Tribe, vendor booths galore and some awesome food trucks.  If you have yet to attend a Peachtree festival, DO NOT miss next year's.

Unfortunately we did not get to stay the entire weekend because Shaun's other band, Totally Useless had a show at Moon City Pub with Bad Dog No Biscuit and the Red Shirts.

Regrettably I got sick Saturday evening and did not get to see or take pictures of the Red Shirts.  Hopefully we will catch them another time.

Weekend Shenanigans: Bad Company/Free Tribute "Fire And Water" & Action Kick Johnny @ Linderg's Tavern

Add caption

The Mountain Man, aka Chops, aka Shaun, aka my husband, had another show this weekend with Action Kick Johnny.  They joined the guitarist's (Spencer Wittenborn) other band Fire and Water on stage at Lindberg's Tavern Friday evening.

Fire and Water

Fire and Water rocked us first with their tribute to both Bad Company and Free.

Spencer serenaded us as usual with his awesome and beautiful voice.

If you didn't make it out, you missed an epically awesome show.

And to finish off the evening, Action Kick Johnny took the stage.
