Bike Ride

Yesterday was perfect weather and the Mountain Man surprised me with a motorcycle ride out to his favorite fishing hole.  And as much as some people like to throw a fit about taking a pregnant woman on a motorcycle, Bite Me!  I'll ride behind him until I'm too big to.  I had a huge bug filled grin the entire time.

Jealous, aren't you.

In other news...

I need some advice.  The baby bump has begun to show.  I do not have stretch marks appearing yet but I'd like to never see them.  However, all the lotions and creams than everyone has been telling me about has cocoa butter in them.  I HATE cocoa butter!  It smells like ass and if I had to wear it on a daily bases I'd be back to the way I was during the first three months of this parasite taking over my body, in other words, puking 24/7 and as much FUN as that was, lets not have a repeat mmkay.

Does anyone know of any other options?  ...Cheap options?

OMG where is my brain? I thought I had read: I'll ride him until I'm too big, instead of "ride behind him!" Either way, you go girl!

the palmers tummy butter (with coco butter in it, put your big girl panties on and deal :-p) works really well and is fairly cheap and easily found at places like target and walmart. you might try just regular shae butter, but getting the pure stuff is hard and kinda pricey. most definitely start applying something now, before the stretch marks appear. they're way easier to prevent/minimize than to remove later. palmers also has an oil (marketed towards anti itching?), which I only used once (free sample) and didn't really like, but it wouldn't have cocoa butter in it. also check out the ingredients on it, I bet a big part is vitamin E oil (check amazon or granola crunchy health stores), which I've used to fad (non-stretch mark) scares and might work on it's own if regularly applied to the belly during pregnancy.

Just use a goof lotion or oil. Cocoa butter makes me want to hurl. But WTF do I know? I have stretch marks or "Tiger scratches". They aren't that bad, but I won't be modeling bikinis.

I gotta go with Marty -- Cocoa butter is the best, and Palmer's is the best of the best, so suck it up. Plus, you'll smell like fudge, so people will think you're all domestic and shit. It's a win-win.

and if you've still gotta be a puss about it, straight Vitamin E oil is good for scars, and it doesn't have a smell. Puss.

Glad you enjoyed your ride.

As far as stretch marks - I'd ask your doctor for advice, but I'm pretty sure it's just luck of the draw. I'm not convinced any of the lotions really work.

Hoodyhoo is right about the Vit. E. And the puss. But I am here to tell you that stretch marks are pretty much always going to be the least of your worries from here on out. They are going to be under the heading "small stuff" in just a matter of months. Enjoy obsessing over that kind of thing while you still can because those days are numbered. Really! :)

cocoa butter smells like ass, i completely agree.

i have stretch marks on my tits (and a whole lot of other places, too), but they are so invisible that no one ever notices, and i'll SOOO share my secrets:

!. 100% shea butter. it may be pricey at first, but it lasts FOREVER. greasy, but effective. rub everywhere. also multi-purposed. i use it as lotion, and lip balm, and for tattoo healing, and...

2. vitamin E oil, hoody's right.
i use this in the shower, to cut down on the greasy effect. after i'm all done cleaning, i massage it into everywhere i feel like - which is almost everywhere on me, i have dry skin. but for boobs & belly especially, to avoid stretch marks, you have to have really well-maintained skin.

3. there are scar creams out there, but they are thick and sometimes smelly and i don't know if they work as well.

personally, i would combine the vitamin E oil in the shower, then cover with 100% shea butter after the shower. you may be slippery as hell, but if you do it every day, your chances of getting visible stretch marks will go WAAYYY down. and if you do get them (as we all do...) then they will assimilate into your skin so much faster and almost no one will ever notice.

for example: i just asked the Matt: do my tits have stretch marks? he said, i dunno, i never noticed if you do!

exactly!
